I really need to get a copy of the video the we had which we called "flight deck follies". It had all sorts of crazy stuff that was caught on tape, including guys holding on to padeyes for dear life when they got blasted by a jet.

The first half of the film was pretty funny, the second half wasn't. That put us all in the right frame of mind to talk about safety on the roof when flight opps were going on.

Notice how far the engines are from the place where the people got jet blasted. It isn't that close.

In April I was in St. Maarten and witnessed it first hand...it's amazing what the jet blast does! The beach directly behind the runway is actually lower than the rest of the beach from all the jet blast blowing the sand into the water!!! People who did not know any better and were standing on the beach usually ended up in the water! Pretty fun to watch from the beach bar that is about 50 yards away while sipping on a cold one!

Somebody on this forum made a post a little while ago saying that he and his friends did that recently. I can't remember who though and I don't feel like searching. Maybe they'll fess up again.
