Hey all,

wrapped up the ATP 14 day CFI course yesterday with the Single Engine Add-on. It was a fun ride although the oral was thorough and went into quite a bit of detail about how I would teach a new student.
Lots on paperwork and endorsements and such. Anyway nuff of that - SCHOOL'S OUT ----- YEAHHHHH BABYYY!!!!!!!!

Oh and the course at ATP? I enjoyed it, thought it was good. Don't show up if you're not prepared to study your face off and also make sure you're up to speed on all the CFI ME Maneuvers - you don't get much practice in the 'Nole.

Best wishes

Congratulation! :clap:All three in 14 days? wow, thats a lot!!! I thought all three in a month was a lot! You gonna stay on with ATP as a cfi now?

Nah - I have several students lined up for different things from primary to flight reviews and some IFR stuff and they're right here at my local airport.

It was a lot to digest, but once into the swing it isn't too bad.

Thanks! Just going to be teaching for now out of the local field. Possible job coming up in the fall flying a Turbo Seneca, but it will only be a couple times a month - but hey, at this point, I'll take it!

Congrats!! Any gigs lined up?

Wow!

I did a 5 day CFII initial course from the 1-5th of June and just got my signoff today to take the checkride.

Gotta do the add-on and the MEI sometime down the road.

Sounds like you had to drink through a fire hose. Seems like I had to do the same thing and it took me a month and a half for just the II stuff.

Congrats.

I'm seriously considering going to ATP to do my commercial multi add-on, MEI, and CFII. I've heard a lot of good things about the school.

I found it very intense but I work better under pressure so it suited me fine.
The guys at ATP are sharp instructors and will go the extra mile to help you if you put the effort in.

As has been said in other threads "don't go there and expect to pass if you go and live it up in Hooters each night!"

I was in at 7am for an hour sim session and then classroom from 8 til 5pm. Study from 6pm to 11pm most nights.

Congrats dude:) What ATP site did you do it at?

I went to LZU in Atlanta..... Tower controlled airport, not too busy.
I took my initial checkride in FLL and the other two in MDQ Alabama.

All in all - good fun!

If you don't mind, what was your total cost? I'm trying to determine the most economical route to get my CFI(I) MEI. PM me if you'd rather with details.
Many thanks,

Who did you have in FLL? I assume you went to Clyde at MDQ.

Brooks Black - he's one of about three that they have to do rides down there and Clyde at MDQ for the II and S.E. rides.
Clyde shows you 60* steep turns at 0 airspeed if you're a good boy! (Scared the frickin' crap outta me)

No problem, man! I did the whole smash (all 3 ratings) and it was $4995.00 for the two week course. I should warn you that you will be lucky to get it all done in that time frame. Wx - your own readiness and other factors conspire to turn this into a 3 week adventure, but that doesn't happen to everyone.
The checkrides run from $350 - $500 a pop depending who you do them with. The extended stay where I bunked was $209 a week and then there is some other expenses like food and such. Also had to buy some instructional aids which added about another $30 or so.

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. THis route is a good way to go if you just need to get it knocked out. These guys will teach you to pass the checkride. You don't get much practice in the planes, but it is pretty much assumed that you can fly and fly well.

Good luck
