New XJT Website

I hope you all like it...I think it's well done.
www.xjt.com

Stick an "e" between the "j" and "t"

www.xjet.com

They've got quite the Southwest-like route structure planned... sure hope it works for them. From what I understand about regional jets is that it's real hard to make money without the code-share subsidy. I think that's one of the reasons Indy never made it.

Thanks for the correction....I've been typing xjt alot lately due to it being our new employee site.

I think there are much bigger reasons that Indy didn't make it besides just "going it alone".

- Bad Timing: Fuel costs & economy
- Competing against your previous "Major" customer out of their hub
- Multiple fleet types/higher MX and Training costs
- Offered Hub/spoke type of flights.

This is from one of the best articles about our new service that I've read so far regarding using RJ's for this type of service:

In a way, (XJT) fulfills the original mission of the 50-seat regional jet, designed in the 1980s and 1990s to bring jet service to small towns. Instead, over the past few years airlines have used regional jets on mainline routes, drawn to lower labor costs at regional airlines or the benefits of replacing old, gas-guzzling aircraft.

"There are 1,900 50-seat airplanes in this country and every one of them ended up flying into and out of a hub," says Mr. Ream. "No one has ever tried point-to-point with the regional jet."

Umm, hello? RJ's are used extensively in small towns, at least on the US Air side. And I see DCI and Airlink planes at a lot of the small towns I go too.

The reason they go into hubs is because small towns can't support direct flights to other small towns.

Also, US Air does limited point to point outside hubs.

Just wanted to add, I also dig the new web site. Looks very nice. I really like the route map.

Re: New XJT Web thread???

Where'd it move to? Was it just deleted?? What's up?

I am guess that since when you select the link it indicates I dont have access that it has been placed in a mod folder for an offline discussion of some type. It will return once they get the chance to discuss.

Re: New XJT Web thread???

Hmmm...okey dokey....Not trying to cause any trouble here ;-)

Just alot of XJTers here and I think we're all pretty psyched to see the new XJET site up...Just thought some of the others might like to see it.

Re: New XJT Web thread???

It might have to do with the linky to the internal company site in the original thread...

I don't think there'd be a problem showing the actual www.xjet.com site.

Re: New XJT Web thread???

LOL.. yeah... I guess I shouldn't have really done that... if that's even the issue.

Re: New XJT Web thread???

Don't think that was the reason Bob...I edited it to the correct site and then it got moved. Who knows....

Re: New XJT Web thread???

The new site looks very professional. Much better than the old one. And the new paint is starting to grow on me.:)

I see where you're coming from wheels... I'm just thinking he's referring to point to point "exclusively"... while at the same time 'not' saying that RJ's don't serve small cities... rather, he's explaining that it was the original mission of the RJ.

I think what I just wrote makes sense... ;)
