New Private Pilot!

I passed my checkride today. It didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked, but I was pretty nervous. Surprisingly, the oral went better than the flying portion.

Thanks! But it would feel better if I stopped dwelling on the stuff I did poorly on during the checkride. Oh well.

All you can do is learn from it and improve it for next time. We all have things we wish we could do better, that's part of the process. Huge congrats though, welcome to the club!

Obviously you know what you did wrong (a good trait for a pilot), so go out, polish up what you need to do and move on.

There is never a "perfect" ride. You have a couple real good ones here or there, but I usually walk out with a huge list of screw ups, and I take the same ride every 6 months....

Welcome to the ballgame....

Thanks everyone! And I think I'm just gonna go practice what I didn't do that well on the checkride to prove to myself that I can do it and make myself feel better about it.

Great job, congrats!

I remember when I did my PSEL checkride I thought I did so awful...I was sure that I failed. I was almost in shock to learn that I passed and the DPE thought I did fine.

CFI's prepare you well. :D

Fixed that for you.

There were things you didn't do perfectly, but if you'd done poorly (i.e. didn't meet the PTS), you wouldn't have passed.

Congratulations, nice job

I bet if you asked the Blue Angels how they think a demo went afterwards the first thing they'd tell you was what all they messed up on. So like others said, good pilots are always evaluating what they could do better next time. Definitely keeps you from getting too cocky/relaxed up there. Just make sure you're giving yourself constructive criticism rather than beating yourself up like I used to do. I can think of plenty of cringe-worthy things I did on my PPL ride.

Lastly, congrats!
