New Pay Dates at cjc

so we get paid the 1st. What will the pay credit hours on our first check be?

BTW getting 30 min credit to repo a plane in alb the other day....

Right but cjc is shifting from the 5th and 20th so there will probably be some prorating involved

Is that for sure? I posed the question to BN and he said that there is no set date for transition to new dates. The next paycheck should still be old rates if you look that definition of "second" and "first" paycheck.

I also think guys should be following section 26 with the nightly ALB repo that says you dont have to do it. Make them bishes hire more MX guys.

Contractually, each pay day is 37.5 hours, with the first pay check of each month (15th check) including any per diem, over gar. etc. There are no provisions based upon "days" of the month, and pro rating the check would take the month of Feb. below the minimum Gar. of 75 hours.

As I see it, and read it, a pro rate would be a violation of the contract. Our contract covers explicit reasons why a pay check may be reduced below 37.5 hours, and none that I see include changes to the payroll date.

If I have missed a segemnt of the LOA fine... but with the current payroll issues that CJC has had, if people loose 11 hours of pay to a pro rate there would be a lot of really, really pissed of pilots.

Also, if the pay dates is not covered in the LOA, then it is in force now. 1st and 15th it should be.

Whooaaa why would our next paycheck be at our old pay rates? It should be the 1/2 guarantee under our new rates right?

Well I guess it would be half and half. But who knows how they will break it down.

And just as I assumed, no money in my account. They will drag their feet about paying us on the 1st and 16th.

If it wasn't in the los, then they don't get to drag their feet. 500+ grieve a breach of contract and guess what will happen

right, it is 37,5 hours per pay period but in this case they would be shifting the pay day by four days. if they gave us the 37.5 on this one, wouldn't that be double paying for 4 days. Also the new rate started on the 17th. there are a couple days on this check that would be at the old rate. I hope they are smart enough to figure this out.

I thought the new paychecks started march 1. I could've been mistaken but that's what i thought i heard.

Our pay is not dependent upon days. There are 24 pay periods per year, regardless of the number of days. If the number of days mattered we would have different rates for leap years, 30 day months, and feb.

If they pro rate then they will have to add the days to the back of the year end, and you know there is no way that would happen correctly

LOA 2 simply says that messaba and colgan shall be synced with pinnacle, and no pilot shall loose pay because of that.

I don't know when the Pinnacle pilots get paid, but beyond that there is no language with an DOI for that section. I would take that to mean it's in effect now.. but i'm not sure. contact your LEC/MEC I'm sure they have a better answer.

With the pay dates at CJC...

We don't care when they sync it to Pinnacle to be paid the 1st/16th. The only thing we care about is that we don't loose money on the deal. I know the JNC is working on getting a more definitive answer from the company, but they are not in violation of continuing to pay us on the 5th and 20th.

I imagine they are going to want to sync it up pretty soon.

Hope that helps! Any more questions PLEASE email PNCLJCBAQuestions@alpa.org
