I like the new layout... It looks like a page view now which makes it MUCH easier to find the data/info needed on any given view. One suggestion though... Ditch the yellow highlight color (the one behind the "recent threads" box) in favor of something a little bit lighter. That or change the text color to something with more contrast. Out of morbid curiosity, what version number is this?

How do you like the search feature?
 
The search is pretty cool. Although you may want to add a link to search the posts so people don't get confused as to what they are actually searching... You know how it goes, the more idiot proof you make something the better idiot the world comes up with. Not that any JC member would fall into that catagory, but you never know about "other peope". Also, what's up with the "side bar" title? What is a sidebar? And how does it work

I'm not really feelin the new sidebar thing. It kinda makes the homepage look cluttered and jam packed with too much stuff.

But other than that the updates look good.

What I meant about the search was this...

Right now when you search using that box it searches everything on the site BUT the posts in the forums. However, the search button with in the forums (http://jetcareers.com/ubbthreads/search.php) searches ONLY the forum posts. So in a sense you have two seperate search systems on th site that do not search the same thing. I think it is a good thing that they don't as people who just want information and not opionion wouldn't want to wade through tons of posts, and people who want to find a post topic don't want to get a bunch of hits from the perspectives and other things. Does that make sense?

Ahh I see!

Well, I can configure the search to encompass the forums, but it was kind of a pain in the butt to dig thru all of those records. I'm going to tinker with the settings a bit and see if I can come up with a happy 'medium'.

But the problem that I'm thinking about is that when you search in the forums, all of the results are contingient on forum data.

I think if I keep it as two seperate engines, it might give better results. I dunno, just kind of thinking aloud here!

Doug - I was just thinking the picture of me in the cabin - think that should be kept for the forum audience only!

I'll save that for the "JC'ers Gone Wild!", or the "JC After Dark" version of the website.

The "99"'s never got back to me on that idea however...
