I am currently a 17 yr. old junior in highschool and am located in the East Bay of San Francisco. I fly out of Livermore Airport(KLVK). I am currently working on phase one of my private and hope to make flying my job in the future. I have been looking at flight academies and colleges with good flight schools a lot lately. I was directed to this website after posting some questions in a aviation group on myspace and have already cleared up many of my questions by reading some of these posts.

Welcome!

I just joined, myself, earlier this month and it sounds like we're in very similar situations (Junior in HS, flying out of local airport, etc). I'm hoping to become a pilot as well, and have already learned so much on the boards here.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have so far!

Sweet!

Ya, read as much as you can and google for flight school reviews etc...

This is one of the best places for community opinions.

I think I'm the one that directed you here. Glad to see you made it! I'm Pilot Cat on myspace btw.

Hey, welcome aboard, cool to see more younger people joining the boards. Try getting a summer job a line person.....

Welcome and good luck with your education. Try to fly at least twice a week during your initial training.
:panic:

Ya MarkE you did direct me here, thanks for that. I fly once or twice a week. All i have time for right now with school.

Welcome to the boreds. I spell it that way since long layovers in crappy cities usually bring me to the forums here. Seriously, there is a lot of good info here. There is also a lot of b!tiching, anger, insulting, and B.S. Tough to sift through sometimes. It's enterntaining if nothing else.

As you've probably discovered already, flying can be a ball. While I enjoy being at home and hate leaving my wife so much, I also love coming to work and doing this job. Should you head down the airline pilot road eventually, I hope you have the same love for the job that many of us here do.
