There's a new flight school at 1K4, Primetime Aviation. Has three airplanes. Cessna Cardinal $129/wet; Piper Warrior $119/wet; and a Cherokee 140 $109/wet. PM for information if you like. Also available for Rental, BFR, IPC, aerial sight seeing, aerial photography.

Unfortunately no. Our owners have someone they have been using for a long time. If things change sometime in the future I'll look you up.

109 for a cherokee 140.. we own a cherokee 140... why in the world does it cost 109 a hour wet for a airplane that is worth less than 30k and burns 7-9 gallons a hour?

Have you ever heard of making a profit? This flight school is obviously not in the market to break even.

People complain that Spartan is overpriced... while I agree their prices are HIGH, that is what is needed to actually make a profit with a flight school.

I for one am glad that someone believes there are still enough students training to necessitate the need for another school in Oklahoma. Let's just hope they do well and offer a good product while keeping the needs of the students in mind.

I understand making a profit that just seemed high to me. I would beleive you could make a profit around 80 dollars a hour. Unlees they have really high overhead.

Look at it this way, using your fuel burn they pay up to $40 per hour for fuel, then you have to consider 100 hr inspections and annuals, plus day to day maintainance, parts, etc, and the lease of buildings/hangers or parking space.

Its not a overly high price.

Actually it's relatively cheap comparatively. There is a C182 and Piper Arrow for rent at Norman. Granted they are bigger airplanes, I've heard their interior and avionics are terrible. They charge $180/hr. I have yet to see any airplane for $109/wet in the city area.
