After 4 years of negotiations, we finally have a new contract which passed by 84% with 90% of pilots voting. Most salaries are increased by 30-60% and very tight scope protection.

Q: new hires have to move to a base now?
Newhires will not have to move (or live at) to a base. They only have to report to the base they are assigned. Newhires will be told what base to expect when they are offered employment. So if they don't like the base, they can decline employment. I personally see this as a big obstacle for the company and will expect this requirement to be dropped when the applicants stop showing up.

Not for me...Im already in DFW and hope to join the NJ's ranks in the next year or so.

Congrats on the new contract.

I'll hopefully see y'all there in about a year. Thanks for the info and congrats on the contract! This is the first I heard of it passing...I saw the TA and am very happy for you guys and gals.

For an operation such as NetJets, using ones home, as the base, should attract more canidates...

What does NetJets do for standby crews? Hotels or 2 hour call outs from home?

Standby?
2 hour call outs?
What are these strange terms of which you speak????:p

Once on duty, the company is responsible for all hotels. We have nothing comparable to airline call outs (schedule related). Occasionally we will have to sit in an FBO for a few hours, or possibly a "show at hotel" which means our duty starts while we are still in the hotel room.

We are either in rest or on duty....period. Before we are released for "rest" we are given "prescribed rest" and a "duty start time." Rest time CANNOT be interrupted (10 hours minimum). So if the trip cancels or moves up, they cannot call us.

As far as standby at home, I'm not sure how that is going to work now. That happens about as often as Haley's Comet. No junior manning or passing of trips either. If you are scheduled to go.....you go.

So which cities are the "report to" cities
From the NetJets Careers page:

NetJets Aviation currently hires pilots for the following domiciles:
Columbus, OH (CMH)
Teterboro, NJ (TEB)
Dallas, TX (DAL)
West Palm Beach, FL (PBI)
Los Angeles, CA (LAX)
FYI some additional information:
To qualify as a NetJets Aviation (Citation, Hawker, Falcon, Gulfstream 200, Boeing aircraft) pilot candidate you must have the following prerequisites:
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
  • 2500 hours total pilot time
  • 500 hours fixed wing multi-engine time
  • 250 hours instrument time

SteveC when you said "new contact" I was expecting to hear that you got promoted or something and we could "contact" you for jobs LOL!

Did the domicile list change recently? I thought NetJets had a KMSP domicile. Or maybe I'm just delusional.

It's not you, they did change. The company thinks it will attract more people with only those 5 cities. How do you think that'll work? Not sure who was driving the bus on that decision.

That sucks. I had been looking at NetJets as an end goal in large part because of the KMSP domicile. I also can't see the company's logic. Maybe they thought the bare existence of cold weather domiciles was scaring people away??

They are seperate. I don't know anything about their pay.

As far as I know it is the full week (21 days straight).

Thanks for the info. On reserve do you know how many days you are going to be gone? Can they keep extending your tour? And can military pilots drops tours like the airlines?
