Need some help on a school assignment....I need to compile a list of 25 companies that operate corporate aircraft including aircraft type, number or planes, and location of the company. If you can help, please drop a post!

I went to google and msn for results..and only a few sites came back with relevant info came back. My search field was "Corporate Airlines" and "Corporate Aircraft". If you could recommend another title it could possibly help.. Thanks.

What do you mean by "corporate aircraft?" Do you mean ANY company that operaates a fleet of business jets? Or companies that specialize in operating business jet for clients? Or companies who's primary business is other than aviation, but who have a corporate flight department?

This is brokenwings partner on the project. Our AVN professor wants 25 companies (ex. P&G, GM, WalMart) that own and operate corporate aircraft and the specifics about them such as where the planes are based and how big is their fleet. We tried looking on nbaa.org but not much came from there. Any help is appreciated.

Many corporations are not real keen on advertising their aircraft fleet. The thought is that the connotation of jets as a "fat cat" perk can be perceived very negatively, so they tend to keep a real low profile. This might make your job a little more difficult.

I'd try searching the FAA database using corporation names as aircraft owner. Go to this site: FAA aircraft database, and search by "Name", for example, "coca-cola" gives seven N-numbers, with information for three of them (maybe the others are reservered N-numbers???). I don't know how many corporations use their own corporate identity to own their fleet, or if they have subsidiaries with different names that own the aircraft - I guess your research will show some of that, eh?

Another example, "General Electric" gives 112 responses! Turns out that many of them are owned by General Electric Capital Corp, so I'd guess that is a leasing company. Same with General Electric Credit Corp. Hard to tell who the leasee that really operates the planes might be, capice?

Good suggestion to checkthe FAA database, SteveC. I'd also maybe try a search on www.airliners.net. Sometimes the "plane chasers" will catch a photo of an aircraft owned by a large corporation and post some info about it. Using this method, you might be able to get N-numbers for the FAA database or acquire some more useful information for a Google search.

I would further add, the most appropriate and perhaps the most accurate/beneficial way to complete your project is to contact the Chief Pilot of a particular Corporation. They will of course ask you why you need the information and what you are going to do with the information. On a limited basis I can offer you information about my company ... pm me.

Try to find a copy of the NBAA Directory. It lists companies that are NBAA members. Among the listings are the types of aircraft that the companies operate.

If you're at a University with an aviation program, chances are they're an NBAA member and they have a copy of the directory.

Here's a couple for you.

Gannett -- Falcon and King Air
GEICO -- Lear (I believe) and King Air

Sorry for the long absence from my post.....Combination of the website update/trying to find my post......Site looks good!

Thanks to everyone that replied as quickly as they did. The advice cut my research time in half....Thanks again!!
