Hey all. Not one to beg, but in a market like this, seems like we all have to. I am a low time pilot finding it extremely hard to find anything. I have been looking for a job since October. I have literally called every flight school in the state of Michigan.

Anyways, 260 TT, 209 PIC, 140 ME, CFI, CFI-I, MEI. I need to find something. My wife is giving birth to our first child this week, Induced Thursday/Friday (taking bets on what hour). If you have anything, in the Detroit area (100 mile radius) please let me know. Even if it’s a one day gig or if you need a second seat. Anything. *I will probably get flamed for this*, but when I say anything, I mean it. If you’re flying for fun, and want someone to fly with. I will fly for free to get me ahead. Again Anything.

So if you’re able to help me out, I promise I will not let you down. Again, thanks a head of time.

You sound like an ATP student. Michigan has been pretty hard hit by this economy especially Detroit. Even if you find a position around Detroit you might not have any students. I know that there are jobs out there but you will probably have to move. The only other option is find a non aviation job and wait for a position around you to open up.

Another option is to go down to your local airports and put up advertisements for flight reviews, IPCs, safety pilot stuff, etc. Might not get any results from it, but it's a relatively time-efficient way to get your name out there, maybe meet some people, and maybe make a little cash while you're job hunting. Good luck, and congrats on the new addition!

I don't know if you called them, or if they're looking, but I used to instruct at Suburban Aviation at Toledo Suburban Airport (lambertville MI) they're a great outfit.

I havent called them yet, but I will give them a ring tomarrow. :) Been a very busy weekend, my wife gave birth to my first. Healthy girl.

I would like to stay within the aviation community for jobs, networking, etc. I am living in Farmington Hills, so im pretty central to alot of areas in michigan.
