Hey. Shout out to anyone from Orlando who has been to either of these private pilot schools:

-Flight Training Professionals

or

-Air Orlando Aviation.

Reviews/advices plz.

Thanks! :)

P.S. I've visited both and both seem decent w/ knowledgeable staff. FTP is the bigger one though.

I don't know anything about FTP but I did a little training at Air Orlando. I had a great experience over there, no complaints. The Diamond 20 is a fun plane but I wouldn't recommend their Diamond twin unless you have deep pockets. They have a nice glass 172 but I'd recommend learning steam gauges first then glass. If you end up going there I would recommend asking for Carlos. I've been on and off with my training over the years and had many different instructors and it doesn't get much better than Carlos! Good luck.

I used to rent from Air Orlando back when I lived in Orlando, and actually got offered a CFI position there shortly after my DCA days. Good place and they hire good people. Aircraft were, and probably still are top notch.

If you want to save quite a bit, the school I go to isn't too far from Orlando. It's out of Massey. They have well maintained planes and great instructors at great rates. I looked at Air Orlando, but they are much more expensive. http://www.flyfte.com

I have to agree with looking outside Orlando for flight training. Orlando has the most expensive flight training costs in Florida because they can get it.

Air Orlando is the best way to go, great aircrafts and prices. I just recently moved up here to Orlando

You're kidding about the prices right????? I pay close to half of what they charge and it's only about an hour outside Orlando!

I was speaking about the best price in Orlando.. not the best price outside it,. The quality speaks for itself, you drove an hour to fly cheap 1955 Cessna lol.

None of the planes are that old. One is a K model and ALL have Garmin 430 and are well maintained. They may not be brand new, but they are still good planes. I still consider it the Orlando area. It can take an hour to go from one side of Orlando to the other anyway. If you're willing to pay twice as much fine, but don't say they have the best prices in Orlando.

Then why are you looking to finish training somewhere else? Your quote below is not about Air Orlando is it?
I went there last week to inquire about finishing some training and they are hungry for CFI's, they has tons of students. I spoke to 2 Cfi's, both told me they were packing 10+ hrs a day sometimes even 7 day str8. starting is pay 18.00hr - Max 23.00 hr

The quality of training and rating speaks for itself. You shouldn't bust somebody's chops about where they choose to fly or what type of plane. Air Orlando is a fine place. But all flight schools in the Orlando/Sanford/Kissimmee area have their positives/negatives. Sometimes one is more expensive. Sometimes it's just to far to drive. Not all flight schools can fit the needs of every student. Check them all out, do what works best for you. Act like a pilot in command, take responsibility for your training and you'll do fine.
Note: A good flight school and a good flight instructor are two totally different things.

Hey ash you want my tweet so you can follow me? Note: that post was for CFI employment jobs and has nothing to do with this post and Sanford Intl is still part of Orlando. Amjon my post was only to your "outside orlando" but now your saying it's still part of orlando?? Either way, i think the quality of the plane takes a big part in any students training, and also the price they want to pay.

No, I don't want your "tweet". That Twitter stuff is for teenage girls. :yup:
