How do you do that at cherry point? Whole damn place is a giant concrete slab, between the runways, around the runways, down the road from the runways.

Makes perfect sense. You land to inward, depart to outward. Center mat is the jog, where you have more runway available if needed for landing…..assuming you use it as intended.

Never gotten a compliment on my SNA landings, I guess firm is not appreciated by those on the aft end of the door

Whenever I brief that “it’s a short runway, so I’m not going to try for a crowd pleaser” it ends up being the smoothest touch down of my career
