Name your favorite airport restaurant

Since FL seems to be a popular $100 hamburger state, how about that restaurant on the field at TIX. Not only is the food decent, but you get to watch student chopper pilots slam into the ground doing practice auto-rotations.

I'll second that. Other great places in FL are KSGJ and KOCF. Good eatin' and great folks.

I'll second the joint at Ocala. They also have a fly-in breakfast at Greystone (where Travolta keeps his jet). Do a google and email the airport ops people to get an official invite.

Try Cannon Creek Airpark just west of Lake City for some fingerlickin' good country style breakfasts! 1st and 2nd Sat. of every month I believe. Also a wonderful grass strip.

Mine is Voyagers at MGW. Great Middle Eastern food, nice views of the runways, beautiful approach.

Would love to hear your recommendations.

Voyagers is great, my wife's favorite.

Others nearby:

Seven Springs (7SP) is a neat experience. You land on top of the mountain and call and they will send a free bus up to bring you down to the resort for lunch.

Going east from DC, the Flying Machine at Coatesville (40N) is a good one and The Flight Deck at Georgetown DE, is also very good.

Headed south from around DC, Charley's at Williamburg (JGG) is always a favorite, but I have to disagree with TFaudree's assesment of Pilot House at Hummel (W75). I think that place sux. Eckard's across the street from the airport is outstanding, but very expensive and open for Dinner only. It's the kind of place where the meal deserves a glass of wine (or three), so I usually only go there when I'll be staying overnight. I have a boat just down the road from Hummel, so I fly into W75 regularly.

Matthews at Paso Robles (PRB)... AMAZING FOOD AND WINE for a small place.

Harris Ranch.... they'll kill the cow right in front of you!

The Elephant Bar at Santa Barbara (SBA) is ok

Machados in Montgomery (MYF) field has some gooood Mexican food

Favorite fly-ins are Jean and Banning..... just land, park, and walk straight up to the casino, haha

Mikees at KYNG in Ohio is real good. You kind of fall asleep after eating there- so don't jump right in the plane. AND the FBO girls are gorgeous.

awesome place in camarillo but i forgot the name. YOu can sit outside on the weekends while they grill ribs and brisket and watch all the warbirds.

That's the Waypoint Cafe at Camarillo. Best tri-tip sandwhich ever! Get there early; when it's gone it's gone.

Second that about Voyagers!!!!!!!

Also on my list: VJ's on the runway at BHM is not much to look at, but THE FOOD IS GREAT.

Ok, since someone already took Lambert's, I'll vote for Oliver's at CPS. Great cheeseburgers, and the chicks at the bar really take care of freight dawgs!
