Name wrong on Medical

Gone West
While filling out some insurance forms I pulled out my medical to check the date and discovered something I should have caught the day it was issued; back in May.

They put "Daniel" as my middle name on my certificate, my middle name is not Daniel.

Obviously I need to go get a new one, and I think I just need to go back to the AME for that.

The question is: Am I legal with the mistake on my Medical till I can get a replacement?

I think that the medical is now not valid. That is why they're supposed to have you look over everything before they type it up. I could be wrong though, interesting question.

You would think that with all the security measures in place that having a medical that doesn't match a license, would be cause for a suspension of privileges until the paperwork was correct. Some things just don't make sense........

The silly thing is I thoroughly checked the address, height, weight, all that stuff. I just glanced at the full name as a whole and I moved on.

Hey the middle name had the first two letters right.

I don't see it causing a problem with CASS or with jumpseating unless someone wanted to get really picky with you.

Just have the FAA change it or get a new one if the time is near
