Northern Air Cargo Miami, Florida:<BR /><p>SUMMARY: The NAC Loadmaster may accompany each flight to ensure that all required policies and procedures are followed for the handling of cargo on board and that all loading and unloading activity is accomplished safely and efficiently.</p><p>COMPANY INFORMATION</p><p>Northern Air Cargo is a subsidiary of Northern Aviation Services and part of the Saltchuk family of companies. Northern Air Cargo services customers in Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, South America and the Caribbean.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li>Ensures compliance with the regulations for the loading of hazardous materials.</li><li>Coordinate and supervise all cargo-related functions associated with the assigned flight(s), including inspection and supervision of ULD build-up operations and weighing of cargo prior to it being loaded on the Companys aircraft.</li><li>Prepare and distribute all appropriate aircraft load plans and weight and balance documenation.</li><li>Ensure that all revenue cargo and COMAT loaded on company aircraft under their control is properly inspected, packaged, labeled, and weighed.</li><li>Ensure that it is loaded, distributed, and restrained on the aircraft per Company policies, procedures, and all applicable government regulations.</li><li>Supervise and direct all contract labor groups assigned to handling, loading, and offloading the assigned aircraft.</li><li>Ensure the safe and efficient handling of company equipment and cargo, to ensure safe loading/offloading per Company policies and procedures.</li><li>Supervise these activities in order to avoid damage to aircraft, cargo and equipment, and injury to personnel working on or around the aircraft.</li><li>Conduct random checks to verify the accuracy of cargo weight, dangerous goods and documentations required for the flight.</li><li>Operate (or supervise the operation of) all aircraft cargo doors, cargo conveyance, and restraint systems; and the installation and stowage of all required cargo door sill guards and anti-tipping equipment.</li><li>Inspect aircraft cargo conveyance and restraint systems for proper operation. Notify the Maintenance Representative if any repair is needed.</li><li>Inspect tendered ULDs for damage and deficiencies, and ensure that the contained cargo is adequately secured. Reject any ULDs that do not meet minimum standards.</li><li>Ensure that no pilferage, loss, or damage of cargo occurs while it is in the Companys custody; maintain control over all company owned / leased ULDs and cargo restraint equipment; close all aircraft doors and secure the aircraft prior to leaving at layover stations or any other location where company personnel are not present to perform such tasks.</li><li>Fly with the aircraft as an onboard Loadmaster when so required, and perform all duties under the direct authority of the Pilot-In-Command.</li><li>Ensure that all deliveries of catering to the assigned aircraft have been correctly filled and that the aircraft has been sufficiently stocked with dry supplies (time permitting).</li><li>Ensure that all trash, old catering and other debris are removed from the aircraft and / or turned over to the appropriate parties after the completion of the flight. Perform any other tasks that may be required to keep the aircraft cabin and cargo compartments clean and orderly.</li><li>Loadmasters will assist the other crewmembers in seeing that the cabin of the aircraft is kept clean and orderly at all times. Prior to takeoff and landing, ensure that all trash and debris has been picked up and bagged, and that all baggage, catering equipment, manuals, bedding supplies and COMAT are properly secured.</li><li>Loadmasters are responsible for ensuring that the cargo compartments of the aircraft are kept clean and orderly. All trash, debris and cargo restraint equipment in these compartments must be picked up, secured or disposed of prior to takeoff of the aircraft and immediately after the cargo offload has been completed.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: </p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ul><li>High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).</li><li>Minimum 3 years experience as a Loadmaster in wide body aircraft operations. Strongly prefer at least 5 years. </li><li>Have a thorough knowledge of the transport of Dangerous Goods by air.</li><li>Must be safety focused and follow all company safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Be familiar with the pallet design and build up, ground loading equipment, aircraft loading systems (especially ULD locking mechanisms), and load planner duties.</li><li>Must have experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel in particular for weight and balance software and the ability to learn basic computer applications.</li><li>Must successfully complete a 767 weight and balance program.</li><li>Must have a history of outstanding interpersonal relationships with customers and coworkers. Be able to interact successfully with variety of stakeholders.</li><li>Work with little or no supervision and accomplishes tasks as assigned. </li><li>Have possession of a valid passport.</li><li>Must be able to travel internationally without restriction.</li><li>Requires valid drivers license and clear driving record. </li><li>Extensive travel is required. May be temporarily based at other company stations/locations as required.</li><li>Extended on duty hours maybe required.</li><li>Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background check and pass TSA clearance to receive SIDA badge for Miami International Airport. </li></ul><p>LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS: </p><ul><li>Must be able to interact and communicate well with cargo, customer service, and load control employees, along with other departments, and customers.</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish helpful.</li><li>Ability to write brief trip synopsis, routine e-mails, etc.</li></ul><p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p><ul><li>Flying: This job function requires constant travel on company aircraft, and occasional overnight stays.</li><li>Will be working on and around aircraft, in warehouse environments and in outdoor ramp environments.</li><li>Must be able to work in all types of weather for an extended periods.</li></ul><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Repetitions will vary with projects. </li><li>Climbing: Up ladders and stairs. </li><li>Reaching: Full range of motion may be required to perform the essential functions of this position</li><li>Standing/Walking: Concrete floor in warehouse and paved ramp.
