For some of those who know that last year I was trying to get a job as a line guy at my local airport. I was almost sure I would get it, but it didn't quite turn out and long story short, I didn't get the job...

I took peoples advice which was to keep calling and let them know I was still around and still interested. I called every month to three months and asked if there was a spot. Well, I decided to change CFIs during all this and my new instructor knew I wanted to get a job as a line guy, so with out me even knowing, he talked "in length" about me working there with the manager. So, today I gave the manager a call and I am now New Garden Aviation'S newest line guy!!!:D

Job training starts June 13 (also have a lesson for that date to, woo!) and goes to the 15th.

To add to great news I'll also be flying every week for the next ten weeks!!!:rawk:

And to all who said keep trying, thanks. I seriously told myself, what is it going to do? but the manager even mentioned my persistence in wanting this job!!!

:nana2::nana2::nana2: Woooo!!!!

again thanks to all who told me to keep trying, because even though it took me a year, it got me the job.

Awesome! Is Mike your new instructor?

Thanks guys!!! yes, persistance definitely pays off.

Alex, I decided to go with Jon because it would easier to schedule with him in afternoons. Mike told me he goes to New Garden in the mornings, which I could do, but it is easier for me on afternoons.

Bigey, a line guy does whatever he is told to do in teh airport. Running the register, billing people, fueling planes, making coffee, cleaning, saying "new garden hears you loud and clear," even feeding the FBO creatures (aka pets:p), and making people happy. For me it is more of a connection thing and being at the airport. I'll also get a discount at the FBO (sweet!), which helps me alot. Pay isn't that good, but I really don't mind as the benefits of the jop let me see past that.

Thanks again!!!!

I worked as a line guy for a quite some time. I met a lot of great people (some who would take me flying) and learned more about airplanes than I thought I would. I also made some pretty good tips when the right planes came in.:)
Its a great networking opportunity and an all around fun job (for the most part).

Congrats, man! :) I worked as a line guy for some time as well. It was nice being able to meet new pilots, and some even offered to show me the airplane while waiting for their passengers. :) How's that for motivation and paying it forward?

Someday I'll have to fly into New Garden.. never been there!

Congrats on the Job!

I fly out of UNV sometimes (SCE State College)

Yes, I was nervous!

I am excited to start and meet new people.

Crock, come on down!!! Let me know if your going to stop by!

Paul, airshow is on the 10th....I'll be there. And yes, there are pancakes:D
