Multi-time scenario

Hey all,

I'm trying to decide what to do about multi-time, and here's the main scenarios I can think of (I have 17 right now):

1. Take out a small loan for the 33 more I need to get in with Eagle or another operator. With the rates I've found It would range from $3000 to $6000 depending on how much I could split.

2. Get another CFI job after graduation and pay as I go, but I think I would miss the current hiring boom by the time I scrounged enough together.

3. Go to Transstates with 25

Any thoughts? My main concern is just barely missing the current hiring boom and minimums going up faster than I'm getting time.

Get the 33 extra hours and go to the airline of your choice.

You know what I just lost today while reading this thread? Anyone? Can you guess?

My lunch? Almost.
My temper? Naw, I am resigned to it now. It is ok. It is just the way it is.
My virginity? Nope, but that is what I told her.

It was my respect for regional FO's. It is ok, don't be mad, it isn't your fault. I still respect you all as people. You are just trying to make the best decision you can for yourself. Entirely understandable. We all have our reasons. There are many competent ones out there, I am sure. No, I know it - you did pass ground school after all. It is just that there are a few (thousand) that are getting washed in among your ranks and, well, they make me wonder. That's all. Heck, I may be one one day... just don't tell my friends.

I don't think you probably have to worry about missing the hiring boom.

But, if you want a regional job now, I'd just buy the 33 hours.

Yeah, I don't think the hiring boom is going anywhere. Don't be in a rush. If it were me, I'd go for the CFI job and pay as I go (if not get a job where you can instruct in a twin). Remember that for every dollar you take out in a loan, you're paying more in interest. That $3-6K you're figuring could end up being over $10k from some loan providers.
