Mt. Comfort Airport (MQJ) changing it's name.

The Indianapolis Airport Authority board successfully petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration for the name change. Board members said the name Mount Comfort posed a problem because the town can be difficult for pilots to find on maps......

....now that last sentence above is funny. :D

Well, it is Indiana. From the air, everything pretty much looks exactly the same...

My dad prefers MQJ to UMP (Indianapolis Metro Airport). 2 runways, a bit "out of town" (UMP is in a very suburbanized area, MQJ is pretty much surrounded by fields still), and nicer people at the FBO.

So now the Indy area will have:

-Indianapolis International Airport
-Indianapolis Metro Airport
-Indianapolis Executive Airport
and now the
-Indianapolis Regional Airport

Funny, MQJ would actually have been MORE distinctive leaving their name as it was...!

And our other favorite airport is only different by one letter... KMRJ...

Appropriately named, of course.

If anyone arrives @ KMQJ, send us a PM!
