I'm moving out to Washington DC in a couple weeks with my work and wanted to see if there was any part-time CFI work available for nights and weekends. I'm a fairly new instructor (have had the rating 6 months) but due to the San Fran economy and my current job in emergency response haven't really had the ability to teach, although I've been volunteering as an AOPA mentor since my AGI/IGI in Feb 08 with about (not logged) 75 hours ground given. I wanted to get the feel of the area before making phone calls and sending out resumes.

Qualfications:

CFI ASEL AMEL IA
Commercial Pilot ASEL AMEL IA
BS Mechanical Engineering
365 hr TT, 46 hr MEL

try Manassas (KHEF) airport. There are a few flight schools on that field and it's fairly close to the DC area. I went to Manassas Aviation center over there a few years ago. Nothing stellar, but they were alright. Here is their website http://www.manassasaviation.com/ . Not sure what their deal is now, they might have openings though.

Aviation Adventures called me for an interview about a week or two back. Give them a try.
