Don't touch this program with a 10 ft pole. Their nursing program just lost accreditation and the aviation program is on the block also. Not worth the risk.
Not to say I told you so, but I told you so. The hammer was dropped and Fall will be he last semester of accreditation. If the degree is completed in time great, if not the classes taken are good and can be transferred but your SOL on he degree.
So the United States Federal Government, and the taxpayer, are getting ripped off instead. Check.I'm currently at MSU and while what jhugz is saying is true, it's not 100% accurate. I'm using MSU and ATP and not paying a cent out of pocket since I'm a veteran using the Post 9-11 GI Bill. The guy running the Aviation Department will go out of his way to make sure your questions are all answered, and my contact at ATP's headquarters is fully aware of the situation and I've been in constant contact with him as well.
Change of management in this form would likely have a bearing on credits earned, wouldn't it?Now, that being said. MSU submitted a teach out plan that was to go through the end of next spring. The HLC only approved it through Dec. 31st. It was just confirmed that the Aviation teach out plan goes through spring. Everything in the fall semester is being done by MSU, and everything in the spring is being done by WVUIT (West. Va Univ. Institute of Technology). It also sounds like at this time WVUIT plans on submitting for approval plans to pick up this program on their own. I've been told ATP is in on the talks as well.
jhugz
I transferred to another school and am starting my degree in something different.
In the end it will be for the best for me
Ozziecat I also say do not drink the kool aid and put all your eggs in one basket.
MSU is taking so many shortcuts now it is joke, like the agreement with Everglades ( crap school). After the accreditation issue I will not touch anything they put out with a ten foot pole like Jhugz said.
I am going to restart my degree with the gen education credits I have and start over.
ozziecat35 be very very careful the KoolAid you drink from Robbins my friend. He's a nice enough guy but will be waving the flag while the ship sinks to the bottom. He tells you what you want to hear, ie "This has nothing to do with the aviation program, just the nursing." "Don't worry we will be this. " etc etc etc. just looking out.

To point A, while I love sarcastic remarks as much as the next guy, all your tax dollars have gone to actual flight labs, except for two classes, an Aviation Law and an English class.
To point B, since I will most likely not graduate until Spring, my degree will be from WVUIT, with everything I've done at MSU carrying over (per the agreement).
But remember they have stated many times now that there is no agreement for people graduating after Spring 2013. Now they have stated that there is something in the mix, but how can you know that will not fall through. WVUIT has not come up with anything yet, so there is not way that one can know what will happen. I am happy that you are going to finish your flight labs, but know that if WVUIT falls through, you could of spent that time to go to transfer to another college.
Your statement saying you will continue onto to WVUIT at this points is incorrect, because WVUIT might not come up with anything.
I am tired of playing with fire at this point with MSU. They say go away then say come back, do you really want to get a degree from these con artists. If something does come of it the WVUIT degree will be a joke and probably later that program will lose accreditation.
From a fellow MSU'er, good luck.
