Summer monsoon? Tropical storm in advance of a hurricane? Nah man. . .not even close.

It's April. . .early spring. Prolly one more good cold push from Canada-land. Slightly warmer surface temperatures. Increased instability, and wammy. . .just another Spring time convective outbreak.

Nothing to do with a summer monsoon or a tropical storm. :)

But then again. . .here I am. . .expecting pilots to really know a lot about meteorology. :)

Appears that it was due to a microburst.
 
That was a great clip! Reminds me of the time I pushed my neighbors car a few spaces away just to watch her reaction when she came back out.

That the Tulsa Tornado?

We actually did that to an CRJ in BGR too. Water, ice and sand makes ball bearings on which airplanes slide. It rotated clockwise around its right main gear and the winglet caught the jetway.

Years ago, a microburst hit my local airport. I think 5 dozen a/c were damaged/destroyed. One 172 hovered out of the parking slot (and the tie downs), translated left clear over another 172(not a scratch), and landed on a 152. The 152 needed a new windscreen and the 172 was totaled.
