Mortal enemies become friends...F-4 driver friends MiG-21 pilot he shot down in Vietnam

Not that I have found in it's entirety yet, but there is a bit of the telling of it at an appearance they made together at the AF National Museum.

Here is a bit of the account he gave at an interview with EAA:

You can also find Brig. Gen. Cherry's book here:

The story with other pilots involved was also in one of the Dog Fights episodes which you can find on the Military Channel and sometimes on one of the History channels in a re-run. It's pretty damn awesome.

Edit: I just found the entire episode on You Tube

Guys ever read Robin Olds' memoirs book? Interesting read. Never knew he and Chappie James had had a falling out of sorts, nor did I know that the aircrew involved in "Pardo's Push" were to be court martialed initially, for their actions.

I haven't, but I bet THATS a read an a half. He was a Triple Ace wasn't he? Do you know the name of his book and if it's still available? I think he's still alive.... I might be wrong though. I lose track of things. He flew just a crap ton of different aircraft.

Oh nuts, I though he was still alive. Sad that he passed. He lived a great life though. Man, he was a true American hero. He used to make some appearances and give some talks, interviews etc., and even with his advanced age, he could tell a helluva story. His eyes would just light up. There are some good videos on You Tube with him. I've seen him a bit in the past on some shows on the Military channel and the Smithsonian channel too.

Thanks for the link. That's some photo on the cover. I'm going to order it.
