Mini Meridian?

Hey,

I noticed in a recent magazine that Piper was in the middle of test flying a new type of smaller Meridian; the PA-46-400TP. I googled it and couldn't find any information, nor could I find anything at Piper's website. Does any one here no anything about it?

Thanks.

A turbine Warrior, perhaps?

I have noticed a Piper test plane..painted totally white..flying around VRB

It looks like a Meridian, but it also looks like it may have composite wings as there were no rivets or perhaps they are using flush rivets..a la Mooney style...

We will see eventually..

Here's the wing on the current production Meridian.

I've never noticed rivets on any of the Meridians, but I never really looked. Maybe you did see it, I'd be interested to know what the differences between the two aircrafts are.

Actually I find the poor grammar rather more pathetic. Fix it now, and you'll command greater respect throughout your life.

Good point. I don't have the greatest, but I do like to be corrected because later on I'll look/sound less ignorant.

My biggest pet peave, when people say costed. How much did that cost? It cost me $5.50. No need to add the ed.

The rivets are countersunk. You can see some of the rivet lines in that picture.

Um yeah, good point. Or should I say good example.

They have been working on a new mirage/meridian size aircraft for a while. I used to fly their execs around alot at my old job. I saw the model one of the times when I was flying some higher ups down to tampa. I couldn't tell if it was a piston or turboprop aircraft from the model, but I implored "turbine turbine!" This is the first I've heard of it on the outside. And that my friends, is all I can say.

I made one very small mistake in a post that was neither reread nor very well thought out. How one can come to the conclusion that I have poor grammar from that truly confuses me.

Don't worry about it Citation, some people are just jealous of all of the cool planes that you get to fly.

Besides, this post:

isn't gramatically perfect either. It should read: "Actually , I find the poor grammar rather pathetic." No need for the word "more." Every so often a grammar/ spelling nazi turns up and you just have to ignore them.

Ehh, who cares about the grammar! Considering I write in choppy sentences, run on sentences, poor grammar, mispellings and can't write with a single linear thought at times, it's no big deal.

No new airplane yet but it sure would be exciting.

The all white airplane flying around Vero Beach is simply our standard test Mirage.

For now much of the news is fitting various glass cockpits to the aircraft. The PA-28's and PA-32's are finished and are pretty nice.

Any Mirage / Meridian questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Thanks for the input. I saw Dowlings new warrior with the Avidyne glass cockpit. Seemd strange to see a warrior with glass, but nice none the less.

How are things at Piper, are you still recovering from the hurricane damage?
