Midwest

I am a commercial pilot with multi and instrument ratings graduating from Purdue. I will graduate with close to 260 hours and my CFI and maybe my CFII. I would love to work in in the midwest and won't be picky with any type of flying. Does anyone know of anything?

Thanks,

With those hours, instruct to at least 500. The benefits of instructing will outweigh any job this early in your career.

10 years ago I was in your shoes and I got my first job as a CFI in the Chicago area. Lots of flight schools up there, so you should hopefully be able to find something. I was instructing 100 hours a month, so if you find a busy school, you could build up your hours fast. So, if you want to stay in the area, search Chicago. Unless you happen to run across a job at a small town airport somewhere, but those are not usually as busy.

CFI is your best bet. The other types of low time jobs are few and far between in comparison.

If you are willing to move anywhere, you should be able to land a CFI job even faster. Good luck.

Which school did you instruct at stale? Would you know if they are looking for CFI's right now?
It was 06C, Shaumburg. Just West of O'hare, kind of in between ORD and Dupage. I have no idea if they need anyone now, it's under a different owner these days and I don't know anyone there anymore. There might still be a few schools at Palwaukee (Chicago Executive) that are worth looking into. And there are other airports around as well.

If you're willing to move anywhere I've seen some advertisements for places (around Texas I think) that say they need flight instructors and you can fly as much as you can handle. Can't remember where I saw that online, it might have even been on this website.

Hope you find something, good luck.
