Microsoft Flight Simulator X

It is pretty subjective. I much prefer FS9 to X-Plane. X-Plane always feels buggy and rough around the edges and I have not seen much improvement over the years. I have also added some nice commercial add-ons for FS9 that nothing in X-Plane can touch.

Both are games and both serve a similar value for instrument stuff so take your pick and have at it.

I'm stoked...I barely play the thing anymore, but Ive had every version of Flightsim since 5.0 Its always fun to be able to fly planes under bridges, and make a cessna roll ;)

Flightsim used to be lots of more fun. I remember doing flight after flight online with other people and it was a blast. I lost lots of interest in the game, to the point where I might load it up once a month and takeoff with some random aircraft and then quit.

Maybe I'm the weirdo here - I play Flight Sim at least once every single day!!!:)

Been flying with the FeelThere ERJ-145 lately - nice add-on, good FMS and pretty cool flight dynamics!!

Before all the Regional pilots kick in to tell me how unrealistic it is, remember: If I wanted to fly a real ERJ, I'd go to an airline! I like the game because it's fun!! ;)

So you don't want to go for the airlines? What do you intend to do after CFIing?

Who knows - definately not this week!!! Why would I want to take a pay cut, not be the PIC, AND wonder if I'll have a job in a month??

Maybe I'll CFI forever - or maybe I'll get into Freight - who knows. Ask me again in a week or two (ahem . . .).
