aren't they hurting for pilots? as in so bad that if I apply without my commericial/me, they'll probably take me and pay for it lol

They took me with only 21 hours of multi...

Plus they weren't even pricks about it, never did they make me feel as if they were doing me a favor. In fact, I said something about not being officially qualified and they said "nonsense, you're more than qualified, you have nothing to worry about"

Are you serious?

Are you serious?

Yup, they said CFII MEI 1200TT + my background of running a one man flight training operation while getting my 4 year degree more than made up for it.

(I made sure I didn't ask about my low multi time until after I got all the above credentials out there;))

good for them, I've always felt the "multi" time requirements absurd, is there going to be any performance difference between someone with 25 multi or 50 multi in a seminal when moving to a rj? ...of course not..

I can see a company wanting 100+ multi if your flying 402's or 310's... THAT should be the least they want..

Just seems asinine to turn away an experienced, higher time instructor for some other guy with half the time but "50 hours of multi"

I disagree with you there. Its the the complexity of the aircraft that youve been flying that counts. Although a Pa44 or any other light twin trainer is no where near the complexity of an RJ, its still more complex than say a 172.

I agree with that. Im working on my CFI and are graduating from college this fall. My goal is to get on with one of the regionals but I know that my multi time wont be that high necessarily. Do you think there are ways to compenate for the low time or is it all about the experience gained from have more multi time?

well, Andrew_VT (3rd post) got hired at Mesaba with 21 hours of multi. If youve got around 50 hours, you should have no problem getting picked up at almost any regional
