MEI as Initial?

I was wondering if you could do your MEI as your initial...then do single engine-add and CFI and II as add ons.

That's how I did it, but then again, I had twice as much multi as single time.

Any pros or cons to that...? Im just as comfortable in a multi as I am in a single as thats all ive been flying lately. Especially just finishing up my CMEL, so it logically makes more sense to do that now while all the multi stuff is fresh on my mind then going to do single engine add, then CFI then 3 months from now when i finish they try and remember all of the multi stuff again.

If you're comfortable in the multi, go for it. Your oral will obviously focus on multi specific items, so if it's fresh in you head it might be easier for you. I have heard that some fsdo's and DPE's frown upon the MEI as initial, but I didn't have any problems in Ft. Pierce.

I did my MEI as my initial. It made sense. I had just come off of my CMEL, and did two flights from the right seat and bam. . .off to a checkride.

Why? With Tom and Chris Athens is full.

I think there is a developing initiative with UGA in regards to flight training. I wouldn't be surprised if it does fully develop and Falcon needs increased resources out of the area. The other flight school up there is darn near bankrupt because of Falcon's presence. Only a matter of time before the monopoly exists. :)

How are things going for you Gonzo? Send me a PM regarding this letter from Dan regarding airplanes not being available at the other locations.

It's my understanding though the airport manager is not being very cooperative. The location has great potential and is a great location but unfortunately the current facilities only allow it to be so big. There is zero available space. The rumor I heard was Dan was willing to build a larger facility if the airport manager made certain accommodations, but the airport manager won't make those accommodations until Dan builds the facility.

Things are going good, I hate the drive to Athens but the quality of instruction is definitely worth it.

The letter basically stated the school was going to enforce the time deadlines for each rating. My problem with the letter is the out station schools just don't have access to the planes like the people down in FFC. I've been waiting four weeks for a DA 40 that has a G1000 so that I can finish my G1000 training. I've also been waiting two weeks to get into a twin star. I'm being told that FFC is guaranteeing Rob he will have a twin star by next week because there are four of us waiting on it.
