MEI add-on PIC time

I am trying to acquire my MEI add-on but trying to do it in as little time as possible. I know that I need 15 hours PIC in a multi engine aircraft to be eledgable for the certificate. When I did my Multi commercial add-on a couple weeks ago my first flight was .6 and then after that flight I had my instructor endorse me to act as PIC. Someone today told me that the training "acting" as PIC for my multi commercial is not elidgable for the 15 hours that I need towards the MEI add-on. Can someone please confirm or deny this?

Much appreciated.

As a CFI shouldn't you know the definition of PIC? To log it you need to be acting PIC or the sole manipulator of the controls and rated for the category and class. A CFI can't endorse you to act as PIC in an aircraft you're not rated for.

The only time you can count towards that 15 hours of PIC is the multi engine checkride.

Sounds like you and your instructor didn't understand the endorsement for PIC in non rated airplane. That's an endorsement that allows you to act as PIC only in solo flight. It is used for students who say are rated in airplanes but going for a glider rating. Since they don't have a student pilot license you give them that endorsement so that they can solo. Your instructor giving it to you while doing your CMEL and then you logging PIC for the rest isn't legit at least that I can find

Sounds like you don't know the regulations either. Otherwise, how does a student pilot log PIC.

Well obviously there's the solo endorsement, but a student with a solo endorsement can't log PIC unless they're flying solo. That's not the situation here. I also don't know what instructor would write an endorsement for a multi-engine plane with only 0.6 hours of training in it.

Really? The same way the guy does who has a PIC in a non rated airplane endorsement when they are solo only. Not with the instructor ok board. Nothing in my post was wrong. Show me the endorsement that allows non rated pilots to log PIC in operations other than solo

I never once quoted you, said anything about you. So why you come out swinging there big guy? I was calling out the guy who said you can't log PIC for a plane you aren't rated for, which isn't true.

First off, I would learn to spell "eligible" correctly. Then, since you are, apparently, a CFI, I would go research the topic of who can log what and when.

As others here have pointed out, you can't be endorsed to "act" as PIC when you're running around with an instructor on board. Either you're rated in the aircraft, where you could log PIC by either acting as PIC or through the sole manipulator clause, or you're endorsed to act as PIC, which only applies if you're in the aircraft solo.

In your case, the only Multi PIC that you can log would be your CMEL checkride, and any flights AFTER said checkride where you either were the PIC or you were the one flying the aircraft.

The whole key to this argument is "and rated in category/class of aircraft." So the sole manipulator part only applies to flights AFTER you got your CMEL. Which by the way will include your training flights for the MEI. So basically you're looking at a minimum 15 hours if you have no ME PIC since getting your CMEL.
