Question on the sid. Say you are departing 22L

...fly heading 224 to IMXT 1.5 DME. Continue climb to 1300. (altitude : maintain 3000 or lower assigned...)

So initially fly 224 to 1.5 dme...no questions. I dont see a thence on the jepps. Laterally, what follows.

Altitude wise...i am in a jet. I am certaintly capable of reaching 1300 before 1.5 dme. I dont see any restrictions to maintain, so I assume I can continue climb to 3000 or lower assigned (if reaching 1300 before 1.5 dme)?

I think it's probably a restriction on lateral nav, not vertical.

The way I read it, you need to fly the 224 heading until reaching the 1.5 DME and 1300' then you can make the turn as assigned by tower. If you are above 1300 feet passing 1.5 start your turn. If you are below 1300 feet passing 1.5 DME continue on the 224 heading and continue the climb to 1300' before starting a turn.

So yes, you can continue the climb about 1300' before you reach 1.5DME.

I just flew the Midway 8 departure a couple hours ago off from 22L; "turn right heading 110, cleared to take-off...". Nice view of the city through that 250 degree turn.

You're dead on. You are expected to continue climb to 3,000' but must make the 1,300' NLT IMXE 1.5 DME.

My bet is that there is a Class B, VFR corridor that passes under the 1.5 mark but I don't have a TAC for the area.
