Hey guys,
I am in the midst of contemplating a *possible* job offer in Gabon, Africa. I will be working in the finance dept. and after 12 months or less, I will be moved into a FO position on the twotter, followed by the Dash 8. A prof of mine (who used to be COO of an airline) is very good friends with this person who bought out a company in Africa. There are mostly Canadians working with the company, so I will fit in nicely! Also, the person who is *promising* me the flight position within 12 months is very reputable in Canada, and he is known as a man of his word. 2 mentors of mine have worked for him in the past and know him well; they both told me that I can trust him and that he will not brake the promise. The company also has an excellent reputation.
I will keep you updated on this offer. This is a huge step for me; I will not be able to return for christmas, and I will not likely see my family for quite a while. Also, I will be moving from the first world, to the third, where no english is spoken (Gabon is french, and used to be part of france). Since my current job is seasonal and ends in the next few weeks, I think this offer is a good one.
By the way, I have 380 tt, with 30 multi. I am currently doing aerial work. My season ends once the leaves fall of the trees, and it begins again once they grow back (likely sometime in april).
