Maximum oil for aerobatics

Folks:
My airplane, a brand new PZL M-26 Airwolf (pictured) is about to be delivered. The POH makes mention of a 12 quart maximum oil capacity for aerobatics, but does not mention why. The engine is the Lycoming AEIO 540. The sump will hold up to 16 quarts. Anybody know why the limitation? Would excess oil in the sump leak out during inverted manuevers?? I will be discsussing this with the factory but I'm curious if anyone has any feedback..

Thanks,

Mike

That's interesting. I've seen a minimum 12 quart spec on an AEIO-540 for acro, but not a maximum.

It's an AEIO-540-L1B5D just like the Extra, no?

Yes, same exact engine as the Extra. I've seen that information in the 300L handbook as well. What's interesting is that the engine operator's handbook from Lycoming makes no mention of a minimum oil level for acro. It only specifies total oil at 9-16 quarts. Only the POH from PZL mentions this maximum oil level of 12. I have no idea why this would be unique to the airframe though..Does this mean i should never top off the oil??
