Master\'s degree+CFI

Is it possible to work on a master's degree while CFI-ing? Anybody done this?

Re: Master\'s degree+CFI

I cannot imagine why not.

Most MS candidates have to hold some kind of part time job, often related to their field of study in the form of a research grant or being a teaching assistant (TA). How you fit it all together depends on how you pursue your MS/MA.. online vs. actually attending a university, etc...

I worked full time while completing my thesis in forest economics. The day I got my degree, I signed up for flying lessons and am most happy to report that I am now a CFI and not a forest economist

Yep, I've done it. I got a Masters in Engineering while working part-time as a CFI. Very hard, but doable.

Now I think that MS is a negative item on your resume when you go for an airline interview. Everyone comments on it and questions your commitment to aviation ...

Re: Master\'s degree+CFI

I'm doing it right now. I CFI full time and I'm working on my MS in Aviation Safety at the same time. But I only take 6 hours of coursework per semester.
