Well he had a boarding pass it appears, so this isn't a cass thing. The pilots are supposed to check for credentials though. It sounds like they did, and the system worked.
 
A boarding pass had nothing to do with it. He present false id and stated he was an "Air France 747 captain". He argued with the gate agent to get passed her. So the rules got skirted.

No, he presented a boarding pass to get past the gate agent.
