Major airlines and college degrees

Hi all, i know that going a for a major airline without a 4 year degree is pointless, but my question is, is a 4 year degree enough, i want like everything to be with a major airline one day and i was reading delta's hiring mins and they said candidates with graduate degrees will be given further consideration or something of that nature. Anyway i dont wanna stop at a bachelors degree if it wont be enough to get me in with the majors. So Doug or any other major airline pilots out there, how many pilots do you fly that have graduate degrees? Can i be competitive with only a bachelors?

A Bachelor's degree is more than sufficient. But if you want to get a Master's degree, do that for yourself!

I plan on getting an advanced degree of some sort. Nothing wrong with making yourself more attractive to potential employers, no matter what industry you're in. In any case, should flying not work out for whatever reason, an advanced degree in something would help, if anything.

Hope that helps.

If I can AFFORD it, I'd like to get a masters degree in military history. Not something I could do much with financially, but it would make me happy.

Glad you brought this up. I am graduating college in May with a degree in Political Science. I am planning to go on and getting a Masters degree while I am instructing.

I want to have that Masters for myself just in case I need it down the road!
