DynCorp Corpus Christi, Texas:<BR /><strong>Job Summary</strong><br />Maintenance Check Pilot performs post maintenance check, ferry, and other support flights as necessary. Demonstrates proficiency during standardization flights on aircraft, mathematical calculations required for weight and balance, performance data for takeoff, cruise, and landing configurations of aircraft that individuals are qualified.<br /><br /><strong>Principal Accountabilities</strong><br /><ul><li> Performs pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight procedures in accordance with Company and Navy directives.</li><li> Performs operational ground checks,taxi checks, post maintenance functional check flights, general aircraft systems undergoing maintenance and determines in accordance with technical publications and Company procedures, the airworthiness of an aircraft prior to its release for customer use.</li><li> Performs troubleshooting procedures of an aircraft on the ground and in flight and makes appropriate (verbal or written log entry) recommendations to assist ground personnel in correcting deficiencies.</li><li> Performs recovery and ferry flights.</li><li> Performs naval aviation support flights, as necessary.</li><li> Instructs maintenance personnel for aircraft ground run-up and taxi operations to prepare employees for certification.</li><li> Keeps abreast of and complies with FAA and local flying regulations and safety procedures as applicable for the job.</li><li> Maintains proficiency in basic flight maneuvers, appropriate aircraft emergency procedures and instrument flying consistent with technical publications and Company requirements.</li><li> Briefs and demonstrates operational and emergency procedures to flight crew and non-crewmembers.</li><li> Instructs contract aircrew on flight procedures and maneuvers.</li><li> Perform other qualified duties as assigned.</li></ul><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills</strong><br /><ul><li> Familiar with and required to adhere to the Naval Aviation Survival Training Program requirements of OPNAVINST 3710.7.</li><li> Familiar with and subject to any anthropometric restrictions established for aircraft cockpits utilized in execution of this contract in accordance with NAVAIRINST 3710.9 series.</li></ul><strong>Experience &amp; Education</strong><br /><ul><li> HS Diploma or equivalent</li><li> Minimum a FAA commercial certificate/instrument rating with single engine and/or multi-engine commercial privileges.</li><li> Minimum total time of 2,000 flight hours (all types of aircraft).</li><li> Minimum of 250 hours in the T-34C, T-6B, and/or T-44 C Aircraft.</li><li> Shall obtain an FAA class II Flight Physical</li><li> Rated or designated military pilot/aviator experience required</li><li> Check Flight qualified in either or both aircraft highly desired</li><li> Impeccable safety/mishap record.</li></ul><strong>Physical Requirements/Working Environment</strong><br /><ul><li> Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.</li><li> Requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, balancing and reaching above shoulder level, pushing or pulling weight up 50 pounds.</li><li> Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity</li><li> Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.</li><li> Requires corrected vision to include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Requires hearing to normal range.</li><li> Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.</li><li> May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.</li><li> May be exposed to fumes, gas, airborne particles, chemical mist, vapors, ultra-violet and infrared radiation.</li><li> May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles or aircraft.</li><li> Ability to work various shifts which may include evening and weekend hours.</li><li> Must be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above/below shoulders.</li><li> Requires a diversity of working conditions that range from a standard shop type environment, where there might not be any physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, direct sun, etc.</li><li> Must properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).</li></ul><strong>Travel</strong><br /> May require travel in support of cross-country rescue and detachments of unknown duration.
