Made a big mistake, hope it didn't just cost me my job.

So I was nonrevving back from fort lauderdale, the flights were full.I have work tomorrow so I needed to make the flight. I wanted to increase my priority on the list by booking what I thought was one of my free 6 flight allotments per year (S2), but I accidentally booked S2B (Honor Roll) without knowing and I did not earn that yet. Should I just fess up to my boss that I made a simple mistake, or do you think I am screwed either way? I will pay the penalty fee for my mistake but I just hope this doesn't cost me my job,
 
Well, I don't know your boss, but if that's a fireable offense, you probably didn't want to work there anyway. :)

Just fess up if you feel it's appropriate to do so. It was a simple mistake. I don't want to lead you down a path of covering things up (that could cost you your job), but uhh, would anyone even notice?
 
I guess you're right, I will have to tell him tomorrow. I'm sure i'd get in more trouble if i said nothing and they found out on their own.
 
Honesty is always the best policy, especially in this case. Fess up, you'll get a slap on the wrist, lesson learned.
 
Shut that conscience up and fess up. He could have made a similar or worse mistake than that in his past. Who knows. Honesty integrity, good mix.

First, stop taking advice from anonymous people on a web board when it comes to your career. Second, call one of your union representatives who you respect. Follow his advice, not the people wh don't have a legal obligation to represent you. Your representatives will have the best idea of how to handle a situation at your company with your management.
 
Just realized that you're Delta ramp, so you don't have a union. Here's a good reason to have one. :)

In that case, yes, honesty is probably your best bet, unless your supervisor is a jerk. You're an at-will employee as a non-union worker, so your fate is entirely in his hands.
 
If I may ask, what exactly is a S2B (Honor Roll)?

It seems strange that you can have access to select a type of booking that you do not have permission to use. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen, I can't see how it wouldn't be looked upon as a simple error.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

Didn't know it would let you, once all the D1s in your pass bank were exhausted.

Anyway, that is not a fire-able offense, but you might screw up your travel privileges for awhile.

The, if that doesn't work........obsfucate, deny, and counter-accuse. :)
 
I work with a guy who's mom somehow used an S1 on a trip that wasn't an emergency. All that happened was that an e-mail was sent out to our station with the standby rules, and I'm guessing he had a penalty taken out of his check.

Like the others have said, just be straightforward and admit what happened. It sounds like it was a genuine honest mistake, it happens.

Yeah, seems kind of strange as well. I know Airways only has positive space as an option if you're actually required to use it for work sometimes, so you can get in trouble if you're not using it for company business. I've heard OO has positive space as an option for everybody.
