The ISA's have been wicked hot lately. How the heck are you guys getting up to 450? We're having a heck of a time getting above 410 and most of ours have the Raisebeck flap mods. (granted we usually fly with 6-7 pax)

I have never had any problems getting to FL430 or FL450. We do sometimes have to wait 45 min to 1 hr to get up to FL470, but we average only 3-5 people in the back.. With only 4100 ibs of fuel, you have to get up high to get any kind of range out of the LR-31.

It is Signature by the way.

What's your Mach once you're up there. Unless I can get >.77 I don't bother.

That's the difference between pax and boxes, though, Mike. I rarely take into account speed, unless the pax insisted on getting there as quickly as possible. (Un)fortunately, it's all about the ride now :panic:;).

I know, I'll go hang out with the other pax scum...sorry for bringing the pax/boxes into it.:p

With gas prices as high as they are we fly at long range cruise, so we get anywhere form .71 to.73 about 408 kts TAS. On a 600-1000 mile trip the difference in time is minimal a couple of minuets at most, but the fuel savings can be several hundred pounds. It is surprising how much more gas it takes to go .77 mach instead of .73 mach.
