Low time looking for help

Hey guys, I know its an age old question on these forums, and believe me, I look everyday :)
600TT, 100ME, Commercial single/multi. I'm trying to keep track of a few places online that list any jobs, and seems I've missed the season with the "low time" jump/survey jobs.. Anything else out there? I need to climb out of this somehow..
Looking to work anywhere, location is not key.

Thank you!

Its a tough market for us low timers.
As the old saying goes, "don't feel like the Lone Ranger". It's tough for everyone, everywhere, and even more so than average in aviation. But, you're certainly right about it being toughest when you are trying to get traction near the beginning of the ladder. I wish I could offer something more substantial, but all I can give is advice to remain persistent.

actually the survey gigs should be just getting ready to hire. Try Northern States Aviation, Desert Winds, Air America...and a few others that operate under the company Pictometry doing photo survey work. good time builder!

They all operate in the fall through the winter and early spring...just be prepared to live on the road for the entire season.

don't know what your ratings are but you have, from what Ive heard and experienced, a very decent flight school in your area that is most likely hiring right now. If you have some dual given you should walk your res in.

Lol if its the same flight school where I already work at, then I'm already there :) Contract school... chinese students.. Ring a bell?

I think I tried NSA, they list their season over in sept i think.. No response on email/calls.. Any info on these other ones listed? Air america comes up with the history of CIA flights lol

No CFI.. Did my ratings the part 91 way, so had almost half of that built up by the time i got my commercial.. Otherwise paid out of pocket.. Not cheap.. And some deadleg on freight flights... Plus rentals, friend's planes, etc.

I think you mean the part 61 way.....

I would say your best chance at getting paid to fly would be to get your CFI. Maybe find a jump gig....

Having 600 hours and never really "getting paid" to get those hours might seem a little weird to some people, i.e. padding your logbook. 600 hours is a lot to have never been paid. I know you are looking for a low time gig, but a lot of low time gigs prefer you to have your CFI. You will probably get asked why you don't have it or haven't wanted to. I would say the vast majority of people with 600 hours will have their CFI.

Good Luck!

While getting the CFl is a sure way to build time. Not everyone to cut out or feel comfortable doing it. I know I don't. Frankly I'm tired of being consider a les than capable pilot because I don't have my cfi. Likewise I've much respect for those who did the cfi.

This is a pretty sore subject for a lot of people. Being a CFI isn't about time building. Being a CFI is about learning, seeing things in a different way than you ever have before. You learn so much by being a CFI. The experience is second to none.

It's not so much that you are less than capable, but more that being a CFI really doesn't have any disadvantages. There is so much to learn and gain that being a CFI really only has advantages. I can't think of a disadvantage of being a CFI(other than living in a cardboard box).

How do you know you aren't cut out for it?
