Lost Comms IFR

Wait, how'd you have this conversation without comms?

As ATC, we know lost comm procedures are inherently unpredictable. We are going to try and keep people out of the way and hope you reestablish comms or land quickly. The longer the problem persists, the more time we have to predict and investigate what you might do.

"Climb and maintain 10000 expect fl270 in 5 minutes" would be an example

I've gone into fields with no radio, but talking to them via Bluetooth cellphone.
I've had people call me on the tower telephone because their electric system died. Only local pilots would do that I think, everyone else is too high of altitude to get a decent signal.

Me too, I never thought I'd use the bluetooth on my headset but so glad it was there when I needed it. It's a little sketchy googling a phone # while flying but doable.
