Hey all-

I am heading south from AK to the Minneapolis area for a wedding. I would love to rent a GA single to do a little sight seeing and fall color viewing...

Does anybody know or have any good suggestions on a FBO or rental in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Jason

Valters aviation has pretty fair rates, located at 21D. You could also try Wings at KSTP, or Thunderbird at KFCM. I would go with Valters at 21D, its right next to the St. Croix river valley which is always nice in the fall.

Thunderbird - many planes, great maintenance, customer service blows. Very expensive and will require a checkout (as will any place).

ASI - less planes, just as spendy...

Really depends what reliever airport you will be closest to. KFCM, KMIC, KSTP, KANE, etc....

I've havn't rented with them at all, but I'd check out Twin Cities Aviation in Anoka Co-Blaine (KANE). They're pretty new and they seem to take good care of their fleet. I think they have a Remos too. I walked in one day to ask some questions and they were very friendly and professional. Although Anoka caters quite a bit to the corporate crowd, GA is still huge there. And the guys in the tower there are great (at least a few years ago they were).

Wings doesn't exist anymore. Thunderbird at either FCM or MIC would be just as costly as ASI at FCM.

TCA at Blaine isn't new and I haven't seen their rates in years so I'm not sure how expensive or cheap they are.

Valters would be a good choice if you're in the northeast metro. If you named a close airport or city I could narrow down choices.
