Local News: Plane Crash in downtown Chicago! Oh, wait...

Haha. They thought they had a breaking news report. "Maybe they should tell the news before they do this.....". I'm not going to go into a media slam fest here, but that's what you get.
 
I love how the NEWS is frustrated that they weren't notified about a show being filmed.

Here's a hint, newspeople: its your damn job to go find the news and report it, not for them to report it to you.
 
I adore the WGN morning news, used to watch it every morning when I lived in Chicago and have been elated to be able to watch it livestreaming now...

but yes they're a little trigger-happy like that! Doesn't surprised me a bit that they lept on a "story" like that.

They cover national/intl news too, not just *local* Chicago happenings. But the main reason I always liked them is because they're NOT perky "morning news" types. They're generally a little grumpy, bicker & pick at each other, and don't seem at all to be "Morning People". I'm not a morning person either, so I relate to them. :)
 
I got a chuckle out of them reporting the giant pothole too! Guess they never drive in Chicago either. :D

Because cheeseheads or hoosiers don't have any clue as to what good journalism is. And if you are in WI or IN if you turn your rabbit ears just right you can receive WGN. (at least the part of WI or IN that matters)
 
Here on the NE side of IND we're not able to pull in the WGN TV broadcast, it's just too far. However I am very often able to get WGN 720 and WBBM 780 AM on the radio, depending on weather.

I love Chicago news...even living in Texas I keep up with it. WGN is the best news station around.
