You know that little step aft of the right wing on Cherokees? Yeah, when that breaks its attach point in the airplane, it's not an easy fix. Just in case you were wondering.

You are not only 100% correct, you have also described the process that leads to accidents. It was this little thing and then .............

I guess I better get back on that diet. :rotfl:

Is it connected to the wings-stay-on pin or something?

Let's just say a friend of mine was bucking rivets at 3 AM today.

Ive always Been afriad one day i would step down off our cherokee 140 and that little step wasnt going to stop me lol

The Six is a little higher than the 140. That step is well used.

Thanks again dude. I'd bring a case of beer, but I don't think I should escalate my shenanigans from last Friday...

Same with the tail hook on a 172 after you grind it off trying soft field take-offs on pavement.

The step on a Bonanza A36 helps reduce belly damage on wheelsup landings, I 've been told.

I've seen an Arrow that gear upped and the step saved a lot of damage on the right side. The A&P was convinced that if the plane had a step on each side the damage would have been minimal.
