Lineman at VGT

Have any others had any negative dealings with a certain "head lineman" on the Cheyenne ramp (contracted by ATP, not an ATP employee)? I did a little training with ATPs and had an encounter with him that I considered a flight hazard.

I am writing an incident report to ATP admin. I'm not a salty vet (700/100TT), but I don't think I'm out of line. Just wanted to see if anyone else knows what I'm talking about.

I think his name is Pete. The hispanic guy right? He is the ultimate a$$ hole. He walks around there like he owns the place. Very unprofessional and discourteous.

Pete was his name, not sure if he was hispanic. He started banging on our aircraft (while it was running) because "we weren't getting out of there fast enough" on one occassion and refused to fuel us on another (because "we didn't follow his orders" - whatever they were). We had to taxi across the field and I have yet to see an reimbursement from admin (it's been two months).

They say he takes medication. I dont know if thats a joke or what. But he is a D-BAG!!! I cant stand that guy. I'd file a report with the owner of Cheyenne, the airport manager, and ATP. I also saw him do some very safety-questionable acts.

I'd just like to let ATP Admin know what's going on. I feel that the CFIs at VGT are too afraid to do anything, as they have to deal with him on a daily basis and don't want to ruffle any feathers with the brass. I'm not a huge fan of ATP, but sometimes I feel like situations would get taken care of if those in power actually knew what was going on.

Pete the Ramp Nazi.....Let Jim K know what he is doing. Pete thinks he owns Cheyenne. He is just a fueler for them and nothing more.

No kidding. What's this doods problem. I'm laughing, imagining this little tyranical ramp rat running around treating pilots like crap.:insane:

Everybody's got a boss...just find out who his is and have a little heart-to-heart with them.

They said people who treat pilots like crap...are the frustrated pilots!

ha ha. There's a little truth to that. Allthough i'd never be like that guy. Working the line can be great for networking, but it does have it's downfalls.
It's just a means to an end though. I wouldn't even recommend it to aspiring pilots. Tends to make you look at the airport like the low paying, dirty work place of employment that it is or,......can be. Ya'll know what I'm saying?

The 'ramp nazi' is definitely difficult to deal with at times. ATP is well aware of the situation at Cheyenne Air Center, but it never hurts to share additional 'encounters.' Unfortunately speaking with Pete's supervisor will probably not get you anywhere as the same attitude is shared throughout. If you noticed there are many pretty, shiny jets at the Cheyenne Air Center; while ATP has 7 piston engines that are constantly making noise on that side of the airport..'annoying' many and making more work...which is amazing considering the hangar rent and amount of fuel purchased by ATP.

On the contrary the night and weekend lineman are awesome and have to deal with these issues as well. This surely gives us a reason to appreciate the good customer service typically received elsewhere.
