Life in the academy

Hey guys,

I had some free time and just wanted to poke my head in and say hello.

We just finished week 5 in the academy and it is quite the experience, as jonnyb knows. Next week we will finally start to do some fun stuff like arrest control techniques and get to start shooting. For the past 5 weeks it's been a lot of course work, physical training (i've lost 7 pounds, down to 171 lbs), and lots of time spent in the front leaning rest position. We started the class with 83 recruits and are down to 65. Some due to injuries, most just couldn't hack it.

I haven't been flying since mid February. The academy is right under the right downwind for 19R at SNA, so I always see SWA, Alaska, and United jets flying overhead. It makes me miss my old life a little bit.

Anyway, just wanted to touch base. If anybody has a questions, please PM me.

WOW! That'll learn me to crawl under a rock for a while!

Surf - congrats on the career move!! I had no idea! Best of luck and stay safe!!

To be quite honest, if this career went south, I'd do the same thing. Kudos, brother!!
