Lewis University

Any one out there graduated, applied, visited, or just looked into Lewis (Why didn't you go?). I'm looking into them because I can go there for cheap. I'm looking to major in Aviation Administration, and I'm not going to fly for a living so no "go to a real college, an aviation degree is worthless" posts. I'm just looking for some information from an outside person.

I did not go to lewis university, however I live just a few miles from their main campus in romeoville. A lot of kids from around here go to school their. From what I hear it's a good school all around. I know a few people who went through their aviation science program a few were happy, and a few were not. I also knew one guy that went through their aviation maintenance program and seemed to be pleased with it. I believe the guy in charge of the aviation dept. is Ray Brigsby. If there is any more info. you want to know just let me know and I will try to find out for you.

I interviewed for a job there a few months ago and I was impressed. The campus is at the airport, so you don't have to go far to go flying (as opposed to Western Michigan University where I went and you had to drive 30 minutes to the airport).

They had some cool, laid back staff that had what I think is a good approach to training. Not a horrible part of town, and good facilities. Not a bad place from my point of view.

I am attending there in the fall. To me it seems like a great place and that's why I chose it.

I applied there but never heard anything back, I didn't really care until I went on my orientation at NKU and now and im of regretting not finding out if i got in or not..

It's a nice place and everything is there including the airport. I help out with the admissions staff there and if you go up there ask for me or let me know if you are going for a visit day(e mail me or give me a private mesage). Chicago is not that far too just an hour or less away by car.

He retired about a year ago, it's someone named Frank DuBois who is the admissions guide for that program. Someone else runs the Aviation department.

Sorry about the double post, I just noticed this and I just started the forums here too.

I visited on December 2nd. I really enjoyed it. It was quite cold. Frank is a pretty cool guy. Hopefully I'll be back again, maybe for good.

I probably saw you there I was giving tours of the avitaion building while I was there that day. We had a lot of people there but I'm glad you liked it.

I toured the campus first and then headed back to HW for the aviation tour after most had left. About this time next year I'm sure I'll be back- Lewis is atop my list, and I'll probably apply as early as possible.

I believe Streit is the head of the Aviation Program. I'm currently enrolled in the Flight program.
