Landing on 29 Columbia, Ca (O22) from my fly-in camping trip

Took a flight up to the California Gold Country this weekend for some camping and R&R. That beautiful turf was just begging to be landed on!

Columbia (O22) is one of the only two public use grass strips in California, and it's STILL smoother than Catalina's runway. :rotfl:

Great video! I liked the area marked off by cones haha

Awesome to see something other than a 2 seat tail dragger landing on that runway.

Word is those cones were marking a soft spot where a Citabria dug in and flipped on its back the weekend before.

Cool video, and nice landing!

There are only two public grass strips in CA though? Wow. That one looks weird to me because there is something other than more grass or corn off the side of the runway.

Can someone please post the link to the video. My Ipad is not showing any embedded video (even though it normally does)? I have taken off on that runway before but never landed on it. I have landed on the other CA grass strip though. :)

Thanks! In the spring everything is green. Grass runways are high maintenance out here takes a lot of water to keep them going through the hot & dry summers. There are a few more "unofficial" grass runways around here if you get creative.
