Landing Distance with Weight

Ok, so for a project I was working on at work, I graphed a bunch of landing distances at various weights with all other factors remaining the same. I found that these "more or less" drew a straight line on the graph - or "decreased weight was directly proportional to decrease landing distance." Why is this? I would think that it would draw a slight parabola (because of the 1/2mv^2 relationship with braking, and slower touchdown speeds). The only thing I can think of is that my straight line data is more or less erroneous.

What size of aircraft you are doing this with? With a larger spread between max landing and a minimum fuel empty landing weight would probably help your data.
