Landed from the right side today...

Wow, def was a challenge. Handling the yoke with right hand was fine. Rudder was also straight forward. However I had some trouble doing the 'fine adjustments' with the power to arrest the descent and flare lol... ended up giving too much power, and after took out too much... We bounced and came down, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but the right seater def needs to get used to the fine adjustment with the throttle with left hand operation lol.

just thought I share :D

oh and I was fighting 10 knot crosswind in a 172 (and 1st time landing from that side) so booyah :D

It's pretty funny, isn't it? I'm not sure how I would feel flying from the left seat again. I'm sure it would take some time getting used to again, hehe. The tougher part for me when I first started landing from the right seat was I would add rudder to make the approach look the same as from the left seat. I would always feel the airplane was pointed left when it really wasn't, and would add right rudder.

It sure is fun, when I landed from the right seat for the first time it was at night with a pretty strong crosswing as well, It was rough since it was the first time, but after that first right seat experience, I have been pretty much flying from the right seat now, I will occasionally go back to the left and sometimes I would notice my landings be even better now since I have sat on the right, I keep it changing to make sure I still have the ability to soften those landings from both sides lol.

Thought I broke the main gear the first time I landed from the right seat. It's weird how moving to the right about 1 1/2' can screw up your feel for the plane so much.

It's also a benefit to get comfortable in the Right seat if you plan on going to the airlines, because that's most likely the seat you will occupy when hired.

yeah, I think about that alot... someone that never flew from the right would def have an awkard moment while landing for the 1st few times lol
