I guess it still holds true today :D

(those that don't get it, LGA is commonly referred to as LaGarbage and considered a cluster f)

Dude. Excellent book. I just re-read it. The story on icing is amazing.

Meh, there are jobs that you can get without having to have graduated from high school or college. None of those jobs, however, do I desire to work. :)

You probably can't get them anyway, all the folks that graduated from college are applying for them!

A buddy of mine runs a golf course; they had 65 people apply in one day for THREE positions to cut grass for $9.00 an hour. To be frank, I'm not sure I'm going to find a job this summer.

Wow. I guess that means that I'd better sit down and do this AP Government packet that'll take me a good 12 to 14 hours to complete and is due tomorrow.

You guys are exaggerating. I have a 2nd job at a call center making $10 bucks and hr. We're still hiring. When I was looking for a 2nd job 3 call centers and Micro Center gave me a call back. Small part time jobs in the 7-12/hr range are still out there, at least in ATL.

Are you really that low on SA these days? You live in a giant metropolitan area. The city near me isn't exactly much of a major city by any stretch of the imagination, and the area I live in right now is laying folks off left and right.

I'm in the process of reading it now. Half-way through and I agree about the chapter on icing. In light of the Colgan crash, it got to me.

Hope people caught the sarcasm :)

Well, they didn't. But, that's OK.

As an aside , Fate is the Hunter
is an aviation classic and should be required reading for anyone considering entering this profession on any level.

Aviation doesn't have that many classics so reading them all shouldn't be that much of an obstacle.

Maybe I'm just getting old and protective of the profession but I get the idea the new guys don't have a sense of the history that got them where they are now...warts and all.

We all stand on the shoulders of those who proceeded us. I don't think that gets its proper respect.

Sorry...just another opinion...
